For my English 3 Honors course over my Winter break, hence why I have not posted anything in a while, I had to write a four-part book report on my novel of choice. This book, "Eleanor & Park" by Rainbow Rowell, is set in the year 1986. Rowell tells the tale of the two main protagonists, Eleanor and Park's, sophomore year in high school together and their relationship over the course of half a year. I thought in was super cute and I recommend it to any person ages 14+.
In part three of my book report, we had to summarize a couple of chapters that I think would make great scene in a movie. Instead of just summarizing the scenes, I placed myself as a character in the book. This is how I would look as a character in the book:

One of the main scenes in the book, where Eleanor and Park met, the school bus, is (what I think) is the most important setting in the book. Here are my movie scenes for "Eleanor & Park":
There I was, just minding my own business in my seat next to Eva Dillinger, the most disgusting girl I know. She had a case of the sniffles and was eating her boogers; it is her favorite snack. She even offered me a piece of her snot today. I said, "No thanks," and turned back to reading my "Wonder Woman" comic book. Just when I was getting to the good part, we stop at a bus stop. What is this? We've never stopped here before. I didn't even know this was a bus stop for our school. I tried to ignore all the fuss people were making, but I was not able to tune out everyone's yells and screams about sex and booze. Then, the bus got quiet. On stepped a giant, plus-sized, orange haired girl with freckles that looked like little craters on her face. She was wearing men's clothing. Men's! Why, out of all the things to wear on her first day to our school, would she wear a hideous monstrosity of a flannel shirt? Didn't her mom stop her as she was walking out the door? She was so strange... wearing all of these tacky necklaces that bounced off her shirt collar and covering her wrists with scarves like they were bracelets. Maybe she boarded the wrong bus. With that outfit, I can't imagine what the back seat kids would say about her. They were always so cruel to newbies. When I saw her walking down the aisle, I looked and told her turn around with my eyes. That brave girl just kept going. All of the empty seats next to kids were taken up by their backpacks. She had to go to the back. Gosh, somebody help her! She was striding closer and closer to them... No, anywhere but there! Then she found a seat, Mikayla's seat. Crayola girl was about to sit down when Tina and Steve stopped her. I felt so bad for her. They started to call her names and throw things at her. Sure, she looked strange, but if I weren't sitting with Eva Dillinger in our special seats we all claimed on the first day of school, I would have became her best friend. Somebody, please help her! Help this lost soul! Then, out of all the people on the bus, Park moved his things, mumbling something to the new girl, and she sat down. They looked odd together, but Park can't help that he's Korean. Eventually, Park started talking to Crayola girl (I found out her name is Eleanor.) They seemed sweet together. I heard gossip that Eleanor and Park were geeks over "X-Men" comics-- that Park was loaning her comics every day to read. I didn't believe it since I heard it from Tina, but when Eleanor stepped on the bus this morning, she was blushing, with "X-Men" comics on top of her school books. Later on, I even learned that Park was making mixtapes for Eleanor to listen to. Yet again, I didn't believe Tina, but I heard Eleanor hum "The Smiths" in class. I wish I could have a relationship like that. They were even starting to sit closer to each other, holding hands as Park talked sweetly to Eleanor. It was so cute! They always seemed like they hated to pull away from each other when we arrived at school. I thought they were-- and still think they are-- a perfect match. Who knew a ginger would fall for a Korean?
